
Our motivation
The idea of the nicmics 2205 Foundation was basically born in 2003. A personal stroke of fate, the effects of which were to accompany us for several years, made us pause and reflect. We are and have been lucky in our lives and are aware of this. We are doing well and we know that this cannot be taken for granted.
With this in mind, we began to stand by people in our immediate environment, actively support them in shaping their own lives and help them to help themselves. This has always involved children and young people in a variety of ways. The first of three pillars was thus defined for us in 2022, the year in which we made the decision to give back even more and bundle our commitment into our own foundation with three pillars.
In addition to our interest in other people, animals have always played a major role in our lives and we are very aware of the importance of diversity for the ecological balance and the contribution that animals make to it. And so we decided to get involved here too. In terms of a holistic approach to stabilising the overall structure, we believe it is logical and necessary to also keep an eye on the world's oceans. We are particularly concerned about the pollution of the oceans with plastic and would like to make a contribution here with the third pillar of our foundation, as well as to other topics relating to the protection of the oceans, in order to improve the situation.
Once these three central themes had been defined, the next step was taken, which was to bundle them in the form of a consumer foundation so that we can realise and support many ideas over the coming years in conjunction with our personal commitment. A central point of our motivation is to shape our own portfolio, knowing to whom and in what way our support is provided and what it achieves.
In December 2022, the time had come: we received the deed of foundation for the nicmics 2205 Foundation - and our wish to embed our commitments in a foundation that will remain alive for many years to come, independently of us, has come true.
