Mothers’ Breakfast – Recharging Together
Four times a year, Bunte Kreis Rheinland invites up to ten mothers of children with serious illnesses or disabilities to a breakfast gathering. At the “Mothers’ Breakfast de Luxe” in Bonn, the focus is entirely on the mothers, and their needs take center stage. This program, part of the “ElternZeit” series, is designed to offer mothers a chance to take a breather from their stressful daily lives and carve out some time for themselves. In a relaxed atmosphere, there is room for personal conversations, mutual support and making new connections. There are also some special highlights, such as the kintsugi workshop — a traditional Japanese craft in which broken porcelain is repaired using a metallic lacquer — where the women can relax and get creative. Over a delicious breakfast, the mothers can refuel and recharge together for the challenges of everyday life. Meeting other mothers who have faced similar experiences and challenges in their daily family lives is particularly valuable. This can give the participants the feeling that they are not alone with their worries and don't have to handle everything on their own.
As a foundation, this program is particularly close to our hearts, because supporting parents also benefits the children and the entire family. That is why, through our financial support, we help make the regular mothers’ breakfasts possible and create a space where dialogue, understanding, and new connections can flourish, so that personal support networks can continue to grow over the long term.
